    Hey all,

I have bandwidthd package installed and love it, along with the rest of the firewall suite.  I don't want to risk losing the data collected during upgrades (which has happened before) - is there a way to back up the data?  if so, where do the log files get stored in the filesystem?

I get that the files get created, but can't seem to find them in the filesystem in order to get them out.  I am assuming that if they do get wiped in an upgrade, i can just overwrite the old ones back in?  I'm running 2.0.1 now, and want to update to the latest without losing this data.

The .cdf data files are stored in "/usr/pbi/bandwidthd-amd64/local/bandwidthd".  Not sure what's involved in preserving them across an upgrade, or if they can be restored as easily as just overwriting.  I suspect they can, as they are just ascii data files and don't appear to have an index or other support files.

Post back with what you find out with your update.

I can confirm that you just need to backup the .cdf-files in /usr/pbi/bandwidthd-amd64/local/bandwidthd during the update to get the collected statistics back.

I used the Backup-package for that. You just need to make sure, that you remove all files except *.cdf from pfsense.bak.tgz before restoring it.
