Clients with MAC pass thru on Captive Portal can't email attachments, times out



  • For some reason clients with MAC pass thru on Captive Portal can't email attachments, times out generally with the email showing it is about 40-80% complete.  If I remove their pass thru MAC address and make them log in then they can email without an issue.  Does anybody have an idea what might cause this?  Thank you.



  • are they using DHCP or static IP configuration?

    I've had problems using static IP

    Are there additional routers on the network?



  • MAC passthrough on CP use keep-state option of ipfw. It's means that dinamic rule will be generate on first packet and than will be destroy by inactive timeout.
    In your case, i think, inactive timeout come for some reason. But why? i don't know.
    Let's look on your 'ipfw show'…
