Clients with MAC pass thru on Captive Portal can't email attachments, times out

For some reason clients with MAC pass thru on Captive Portal can't email attachments, times out generally with the email showing it is about 40-80% complete. If I remove their pass thru MAC address and make them log in then they can email without an issue. Does anybody have an idea what might cause this? Thank you.

are they using DHCP or static IP configuration?
I've had problems using static IP
Are there additional routers on the network?

MAC passthrough on CP use keep-state option of ipfw. It's means that dinamic rule will be generate on first packet and than will be destroy by inactive timeout.
In your case, i think, inactive timeout come for some reason. But why? i don't know.
Let's look on your 'ipfw show'…
