Certificate related? We use a wildcard cert eg *.ourorg.uk and the CP is guest.ourorg.uk

In FF attempts to get to http://www.bbc.co.uk redirect to https://guest.ourorg.uk:8003/index.php?stuff and that's fine

In IE (IE8)… immediate failure to get anywhere. Works just fine for browsing if login done via FF beforehand.

Chrome: just crashes (may be unrelated, I need to test on other machines)

      Opera: works just fine

Certs and CA look ok, and there's an allowed hostname passthrough to allow for checks for cert revocation.

I'm looking at a few other threads about issues after upgrade to 2.2.1 but none seem particularly relevant.

I'll have a couple of hundred users complaining soon. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this, meanwhile I'll get to digging...

Ah, IE10 is fine, so I'm a little less worried - there probably won't be too many IE8 users trying to use the system (they're mostly smartphone users anyway). I guess some security stuff changed in between IE8 & IE10, and the upgrade of pfsense from 2.1.5 to 2.2.1 has exposed that. I'll still see if I can figure out what's going on and update here later.
