Ruckus has spun off a brand for the "up to 10 APs" market.  They are supposedly controlled (set up) with an iOS app.

Anyone try them yet?  They are comparable in price to Ubiquiti at the low and and less expensive up at the AC end.  They don't have beamflex but we know Ruckus generally makes good radios.

No, I have not even heard of them until you pointed me to it. Thanks for that! They are even available from one of my distributors already.

But Ruckus without Beamflex … honestly? That's where they excel.
The radios are standard chipsets from one of the big manufacturers like Qualcomm or Broadcom. There was a thread about it in this forum but I cannot find it anymore (with links to teardown etc.) even though I posted in it...
Having said that, we know that the firmware, these all radios run with is important.
Maybe I check them out one day but I wouldn't expect miracles. In the end you get what you pay for, right?

          Hi,

I have the chance to play with xclaim.nice products :) they target mikrotik and Ubiquiti market (AP only).
Not the same performance as Unifi AP-AC but comparable with the Unifi Pro model.Still is faar way from Ruckus or Airohive. But the price dictates most of the time :)

            Thanks for the feedback.

How's the iOS app configuration? Can you generally do what you need to do?

Do the APs have any cooperation among each other after they're set?

Did you test the Xclaim AC product?  If easy, what general performance differences did you see?

I have played with xi2 and xi3 only.in terms of configuration both are verry easy to do.xclaim ships a mobile tool to config the devices which is pretty fast and nice.
Config can be done in less then 5 minutes.what i noticed on xi3 compared to unifi pro or even AC : range is the same (uap-ac is 3x3) but on moderate to heavy usage ( meaning 30+ users connected) xclaim throughput is falling down Dramatically.
If i used ~10-20 active clients everything was just fine.keep in mind that xclaim is Ruckus smaller brother! In the future they might get some technology from ruckus.
              Hope it helps !
