Squid transparent proxy Squidguard loses Blacklist after restart
-
Hi all, I am finding that if pfsense is restarted Squidguard losses it’s blacklist causing it to not start which also stops squid from running (if http transparent proxy is enabled) and that prevents users and pfsense from connecting to the internet.
To fix this I have to disable the transparent http proxy (this gets the internet back for pfsense) then I have to stop Squidguard and then redownload the blacklist. Once the blacklist has been reinstalled I then enable Squidguard and transparent http proxy.
Is this a known Bug?

Its possible only, if you use RAM disk for /var pfSense.
-
I have "Use memory file system for /tmp and /var" disabled
-
Are you running on an older-gen pfSense appliance? Those are RAM-limited and squidGuard blacklists aren't officially supported.

I am running a apu1d4 Full install onto a usb stick (until i get a m-SATA SSD)
-
OK, squidGuard blacklists aren't supported on that device, I believe.
-
Ok, so I'll just have to reinstall the blacklist if the router ever reboots.
Will this issue be the same for E2guardian when it come out?

No idea.
