Wireless works internal but no internet
-
Hello,
Last year we bought a pc-engines apu with a mini pci card for wireless. From the 3 physical connections i used 1 for the wan and 1 for data. A couple weeks ago we decided to hang all wan connections on the pfsense and use it for both wan connections.
On the pfsense i set 2 of the physical connections for the wan connections and in the rules i added the gateway for both. The last physical connection i created 2 vlans for. 1 vlan was for data and the other for voip. The vlan for data is also used in a bridge together with the wifi connection. From that physical connection i put a cable in the switch where i configured both vlans also.
The problem that i am having now is that the wifi connections get dhcp and can browse the internal network fine but they cannot connect to the internet. When i use a wired connection all is fine and i have both internal and external connection. Same goes of course for the voip network.
In the rules sections i only created allow any rules to make sure they wont interfear.
Does anyone have perhaps a idea why i have no internet on my wireless connection?

Post a screenshot of the rules you created. Also, there are firewall logs.

I added all 3 screenshots of the things you asked. I do notice that the log only shows blocks but i have no idea where those are from.

There is nothing really blocked on the screenshot. This IPv6 network discovery stuff is irrelevant. Kindly clarify what "no internet" means and how did you test that.

Well, i took a laptop and have it plugged in the cable lan. From there i tested several big sites like google and facebook to check if i could connect which i could. Then i connected it to the wifi network and firstly i checked the settings if i got the correct address and gateway etc. This was also fine. After that i checked the same sites as before and it just kept on loading. after a while it just stopped.
When i checked the network center in windows 8 it says no internet on wifi either but as soon as the cable is in then both jump on connected to internet.
What might help is that before the vlanning i used the same bridge setting (physical lan + wifi) which worked fine. I also tried disabling wifi and removing it from the bridge to test but all did not help.
If there is a other way to connect the wifi to the lan network i am all ears.

Sounds like shitty wi-fi.

Stop trying to use a wi-fi card and put an access point on your LAN?

I would agree with you but it worked fine when i did not have any vlans.
I guess i just have to create a own network for the wifi and give it allow rules for the lan network. Nit really a solution but it should work i guess.

Or get your VLANs configured correctly.

I would assume they are configured fine. I added some screenshots just in case i missed something.

That all looks fine.
I guess when it stops working you need to look at exactly what's happening. It's either losing association with the wireless, or something else. You can look at things like whether or not you still have good ARP from the client on pfSense and from pfSense on the client, etc.
