PfSense 2.1 in vmware workstation 11 network settings
-
hi there I am new to pfSense and I am planning to implement pfSense in my lab environment to test it's features. But the problem is that I am having a single pc and it is installed with vmware workstation 11.
So I want pfSense to be installed and implemented among my other VM networks too so that I can test the settings.
How I have to assign the NICs to accomplish this task?
Thank You

When doing this kind of testing, I find it easiest to also create a lightweight client VM (like Lubuntu or similar) that will act as a test LAN client, while your real LAN is the pfSense WAN.
Create your VM as Other - FreeBSD x64. For NICs, select Bridged for your WAN. Add a NIC and select Custom and pick a vnet for your LAN. Make sure for WAN that you uncheck the Block private networks feature (under Interfaces - WAN) or you will have problems.

thank you for the reply but wha i want is that how to configure the vmware workstation nic to use pfsense in the lab environment.
one nic has to be configured as bridged
and
other nic has to be configured as host only.
is that so???
and what has to be done next??
please help me to overcome this problem.
thank you

I believe I already answered your question, but I will highlight the relevant part:
For NICs, select Bridged for your WAN. Add a NIC and select Custom and pick a VMnet for your LAN.
