      Hello everyone,

      I'm running the latest PfSense (2.2.3) on an APU1D4 - SSD full install (amd64) and it works fine.

      Now I want to block Adverts for my mobile devices like ipad, iphone, android…

      I'm not sure which Package is the best for this scenario. What are your suggestions?

      I dont want to cache stuff on my SSD because of it's limited lifetime.

      I appreciate every help :).

        Squid3 + squidGuard & blacklists can do that for you but it will take some work and likely tears.

          What do you mean with tears?

          Gonna try out squid3 with squidguard tomorrow.

          Is Squid3 required for squidguard to filter things (like my scenario for AD's)?

          Thank you for your suggestion.

            Those ALIX units are not designed for squid caching and squidguard blacklists due to RAM limitations.  You may get it to work in some fashion but it's not officially configuration supported I believe, and your results may vary.

            Yes

              Well, I dont want to cache anything on my SSD as I mentioned in my entry post.

              The APU1D4 has 4GB of RAM, isnt that enough?

              //edit:

              Squid3 and squidguard are running now.

              Seems to work now, too bad that the sites have some spaces in there but it's working.

                More than enough.  I thought you had one of the little units with 256 MB.

                Good to hear.  What do you mean by 'some spaces'?  Blanks fields in the HTML rendering?
