I have a fresh install of 2.2.3 under Hyper-V server 2012 R2.  We have lost connection to the internet twice now.  The WAN interface will show as up and include the IP address.  I have to release and renew to get connectivity back.

I am using the synthetic network drivers.  Is there a special setting to ensure the interface state is reported to pfSense?  It seems like Verizon FiOS is expiring my lease and pfSense is not trying to acquire a new address.

      Thanks,
      Chad

Mine did that while I had time sync disabled on Hyper-V. I didn't research it much but I figured it was due to the GMT time that pfSense gets from Hyper-V instead of the local time. It seemed to not know when to renew the DHCP lease. Once I turned time sync back on it was fine in that regard.

Thank you, I will try that.

I set it up with time synch off after reading this post:
