  • Hi.

The road to the solution isn't any different today.

Is there something we missed, like how you set it up ? How can we see what you did, or didn't ?
You looked at other messages here on this forum?

Saying "it doesn't work" will never bring you close to a working solution.

    So: please: details.

Are you sure the client pc is connected through LAN interface?
Did you somehow enable captive portal on WAN interface?

    You installed the Squid beep?

  • I have the same problem with this. I'm currently using pfsense 2.2.4, during my first few weeks, captive portal was working perfectly and smooth. after a few days, I could still connect to network resource without logging in through captive portal, I also set a idle timeout to 60 minutes on LAN interface only.

    Captive portal on LAN only.

    Installed and active packages:
    darkstat
    iftop
    lightsquid
    mailreport
    nmap
    notes
    routed
    squid
    squidguard

  • See this message : https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=98324.msg548173#msg548173 - and just ask your : why did he asked if 'squid' is installed ?!

Re-install your pfSEnse - install ONLY ONE package at the time.
    Do thorough testing …
Find out yourself when things break.
Now you know what package you should NOT install, because it break the captive portal  ;D

    I'll give you a hint : https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=98324.msg548173#msg548173
