Can't open web GUI

Don't get the authentication for the webconfigurator - no username/password screen.
checked ip address in console - OK
the pfsense icon shows in the browser address bar as shown in the attachment but the page doesn't come up.

Is this via bogus IE? Perhaps try adding it to trusted sites or something. Does it do this in another browser?

+1 for using a different browser. Also, unless you changed it, it would be on HTTPS, not HTTP. The browser may not be following the redirect.
