        Yes, it always has been. On the snapshot server you'll find some old-style Full-Update files that can be used to upgrade a 2.2 full install to 2.3

          @jdillard:

          @heper:

          the definitive color scheme has not been decided upon.

          it may stay as it is, or it may change …. time will tell

          Yea I am still working on a lot of things and I usually save colors for last (I try to get close as I go along though). Dark theme is sort of a playground before applying the concepts to the main theme.

          What I'd love if we could separate the colors from the theme. It's somewhat ludicrous if one has to create an entire theme, just to have different colors. Themes IMO should be more fundamental, like different layout, and design style.

          The number of colors should be rather limited set: title bars, title bar text, regular text, heading, page background, highlight color, etc. Probably not more than a dozen. These colors could actually be set and stored as a setting.

          Similarly, if there are texture backgrounds, they should be desaturated, and they should be colored by compositing with a solid color, provided HTML5 supports that.

          Is this doable without ridiculous amounts of programming?

            My intentions aren't to make a My Little FirewallTM. The CSS files are a WIP and will take shape with time, possibly leading to a SASS sheet or similar.

            If you know CSS you can modify the interface in some complex ways, such as with http://www.csszengarden.com/, and share the results in your own github repo.

            The underlying html bits will also have to be continued to be cleaned us as well, where appropriate, for consistency as more people play with it.

              Well, colors go beyond just looks. Not suggesting preferences for rounded vs. pointed corners, amount of pseudo-3D effects etc.
              Color is different. For one depending on the environment you're in you may prefer dark text on light background or vice versa. People with various degrees of color blindness or other visual impairments may require adjustments.
              So instead of creating a plethora of themes all of which need to be maintained, a section with color preferences solves this once and for all, and for all future themes as well.

              Just a thought…

                Sounds like something worth of a redmine ticket. If you have a list of specific pages (like firewall_rules.php) I can create it.

                ~~My two requests would be

                1. Autoconfig Backup    (Im clearing out about 6 mos worth right now I never want anyone to try and go back to and each time page has to reload.)
                2. DHCP client list      (not big deal here but I do clear out customers list once and a while)~~

                :)

                Actually if one clicks the delete button next to an item to delete and then hits the "return" key immediately afterwords you can go right to the next item before the screen refreshes and delete multiple items this way quickly. Seems good enough to me.

                  I appreciate the feedback. Inline styles (dynamically created) are back in vogue, but this is something best left to implement in pfSense 3.0 using, say, React. Editing/maintaining themes is WAY easier in 2.3 than before, trust me I had to maintain a few of them…

                    I think multi-select checkboxes, like in gmail, is a nice usability feature that shouldn't be hard to implement. Just haven't gotten there yet.
