Can't access web GUI
-
I'm not sure what to make of this but am tagging it in this section as it does involve the web GUI. All PCs mentioned are wired and used a static IP and were adjusted with the gateway.
I finished my installation of pfSense. All was working well I had everything configured. All of the sudden on ONE of my PCs could no longer access the web GUI (10.0.0.1) but still had Internet access. There was no explanation apart from the "webpage is unavailable" message. So I thought I'd try all my browsers, all 3 of them could not. I grabbed my laptop (wired), no issues!
Decided that I should probably tackle the rebuild again, only takes an hour to reconfigure… Now here's where it got interesting, the second I changed the gateway from 192.168.1.1 to 10.0.0.1 the issue reappeared instantly (same machine as the initial issue). Any other device could easily do the rest of the configuration and had no connection issues.
Now this is completely debatable on whether it is a web GUI issue or something with my Windows 7 but I really am out of ideas (clearing cache, disabling anti-virus, etc.). Has anyone encounter this before? It's driving me nuts.

Yeah, that is indeed very shocking that pointing your clients to a default GW that's totally outside of the network makes things fail…

I changed the gateway on pfSense from 192.168.1.1 (default) to 10.0.0.1 (which it is now) and updated the DHCP. Only one PC can't connect to the gateway, the rest can. Every PC can access the internet and has 10.0.0.1 listed as the gateway in ipconfig.

How about some clue to what your trying to do??
What is the IP address of pfsense lan?? Did you change it to 10.0.0.1 or what? What mask did you put on that? Let me guess freaking /8
Why are you setting your devices all static and not dhcp from pfsense? What IPs are you giving them with what mask, and what IP are you pointing them to for the gateway – pfsense at 10.0.0.1 ?
Is your wireless another interface on pfsense or AP on this wired network? What network is on this wireless network if pfsense, if AP on your network you sure its a AP an not just a nat router??

My problem might be unrelated to yours but I've lost connection to the webGUI too. It started on the 20th of December. Only changes made was updating FreeBSD to 2.2.6 .. so yea.. that's probably my cause. I've had no problems prior to the upgrade and I was able to manage the system with the webGUI. I'm afraid I have failed to follow my own note to self: don't install any updates until someone else beta test them for a month or so.

Same for me on my pfSense slave. WebGUI not running after an update to the latest build. I can restart the webgui but it stops again soon after.
