Max Captive portal interfaces
-
Hello my friends
i want to apply captive portal to different WLAN networks , in such away each WLAN has own captive portal , but all of them share the same Pfsense software .
how many Captive portal interfaces can i deploy ?
and how would be the interface assignment procedure ? I suppose each interface should have own VLAN , but these VLAN must be originate from the OPT interface?i thank you for your suggestions and information

Hello,
have you tried to setup multi captive portal instances in different VLAN OPT interfaces?I tried, but it didn't work, it seems that pfsense doesn't support this.
-
Multiple VLAN in the same LAN.
Switch<–--trunk port(or tag port)---->pfsense [igb3] Port(VlanXX)

Hi, magura,
Yes, We did the same as you, but when 2 zones are both enabled, client doesn't work as expected. Is your settings working?
May I know which version of pfsense you are using ? -
2.2.6,yes ,can work
Your client authentication page is http or https protocol?
-
It's https, and I also tried 2.2.6, client session shows in status pages of both zones, and clients get login page repeatedly when they tries to access internet.
when we tried to set up two zones with different physical interfaces, it works.
I was not sure it is by design or something wrong with my settings, if it works in your end, I will try it again.

I tested properly authenticated
SSL certificate(Let's Encrypt) : https://www.sslforfree.com/
RADIUS Auth
two physical lan bind one portal
-
one lan bind one portal
Because the auth URL nslookup IP is lan1(192.168.1.1)
need allowed hostnames (wifitest.xxx.xxx.xxx)

Hi,Magura,
Thanks for your reply. But there is some misunderstanding here, I read both files you attached, but they are not what I expect.
What I was asking is enable 2 or more captive portal instances which operate on different VLAN OPT interfaces (but in the same physical interface), just like the settings in the first post you replied.https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=105985.msg591485#msg591485
Actually I posted another thread for this issue, just for your reference.

Could you please help to test multi zones with VLAN/opt interfaces on the same physical interface ?

Yes, can work, one vlan bind one CP: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=105985.msg591485#msg591485
You want to ask two or more VLAN using a CP?I will test :)

Hi, Magura,
Please test the settings as described in this link:https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=106119.0
