No connection to oustide of LAN
-
Hi All,
I just did a fresh install of 2.2.6. I am a newbie to pfsense and currently
is using Linux iptables as my firewall. The documentation said that by default
"All outgoing connections from LAN are allowed" But in my case I can not
ping a public ip address from inside the LAN. Pinging from the firewall itself
does not work either. I can not even ping the WAN default gateway from within
the firewall. As a test I connected a laptop using the same network configuration
I am using on pfsense (IP address, default gateway, DNS) and I have not problem
accessing the internet. I have not set any firewall rules yet. Here is my routing table:
Internet:
Destination Gateway Flags Netif Expire
default 66.11.95.126 UGS re0
66.11.95.0/25 link#1 U re0
66.11.95.2 link#1 UHS lo0
127.0.0.1 link#7 UH lo0
192.168.2.0/24 link#2 U re1
192.168.2.7 link#2 UHS lo0Thanks in Advance

Are you sure you've got your WAN netmask right? Subnetting /25 is a huge range of addresses.

Yeah that is right. We have half a class C from our provider.

Thank you for all that replied. It was the NIC that is the culprit.
I did not at first suspect it because pfsense was able to detect it.
