Snort with Barnyard2

Afternoon

I have managed to set up Snort on my pfsense box which it is monitoring traffic very well etc.  But I am experiencing difficulties with the Barnyard2.  If I leave the setup to log to itself barnyard service will start and carry on running.  But when I try and set it to export to MYSQL the barnyard service will not start at all, along with not exporting to the database.

Any suggestion? or if you would like to me to expand on any points please comment.
