I'm planning on upgrading my pfSense box to 2.3 when it goes GA (currently running 2.2.6).

The upgrade guide for 2.3 states:

In the majority of cases the upgrade will work fine with packages in place, but we highly recommend uninstalling all packages before upgrading for safety

The only package I have installed is pfBlockerNG.

If I follow the recommended approach, I should uninstall pfBlockerNG prior to upgrading pfSense, then add pfBlockerNG after.

I'm expecting that this will remove all my current pfBlockerNG config, and I'll need to redo it afterwards (which is not a major problem).

Anyone already upgraded from 2.2.x to 2.3 ? Just wondered what process they followed for this?

      Thanks.

I upgraded 2.2.6 to 2.3 beta, nothing uninstalled, process is straight forward, all configs are kept, included pfBlockerNG.

          Nice, thanks !

Think I'll hold off adding any more packages until after the 2.3 upgrade, but will keep pfBlockerNG in situ.
