Upgrade from 2.2.3 nanoBSD to 2.3 Full failure
-
Hello,
After a recent crash of one of our pfsense boxes we decided to upgrade to the most recent release of 2.3 instead of going with 2.2.3 again.
We also had read that nanoBSD will eventually be going away. So we figured this was a good time to go to a full install.
We are running into issues taking our 2.2.3 config and using it in 2.3. During the process we see this error:
"ERROR!!! An error occurred on pkg execution (rc=70) with parameters 'update -f":
pkg: http://pkg.pfsense.org/pfSense_v2_3_0_amd64-core/meta.txz: No address record

Updating pfSense-core repository catalogue…
repository pfSense has no meta file, using default settings
Unable to update repository settings"From what I understand it is trying to go out and get the newest package information, but is unable to.
Is there any way around this? We have tried editing our config.xml file but it still seems to run into the same issues.
Any help would be great.
Thanks!

same issue for me.

I ran into this when attempting to installing vmware tools following this guide:
http://www.v-front.de/2015/01/pfsense-22-was-released-how-to-install.html -
I ended up installing with clean config…booted up fine. Tried a restore of the backed up 2.2.3 config and the boot loop happened again. I ended up manually reinputing all of the firewall rules.
