Unable to check for update & Available packages empty 2.5.2
-
I noticed a few days ago that my available packages list was empty. and also on the main page is fails to check for update, and flags the message "Unable to check for updates"
If i run "pkg update" via the console, and refresh the available packages site, they are there, and if i refresh a few minutes later. they are gone. this does not fix the unable to check for updates error.
I have disabled pfBlocker, this did not fix it.
I also switched to Google's DNS under general settings, and still not working.Does anyone have any tips for how this can be fixed?

pfSense, right out of the box, the day you installed it, can contact Netgate's 'update' servers just fine.

No need to change (add/remove) any DNS settings.
Google's DNS servers use Internet's 13 root DNS servers.
The pfSense DNS resolver does the same servers by default. -
I'm getting the same error, have got a shell and am getting "signature not found" errors from pkg-static

I have been getting this error for at least the last month, just finished doing a factory reset and still no joy. This all used to work just fine.

@svid1 Did you find the troubleshooting page? (Basically, set updates to Previous Stable Version, wait a bit, then back to Latest, and if that doesn't work it has a command line to run. Definitely don't install packages for the wrong version.)

@fireblade with this not fixing itself I tried running "pkg update -f" instead of "pkg-static update -f" and that appears to work

All repositories are up to date.
Is pkg-static broken somehow?
After running "pkg update -f" a few more times I get a selection of different errors

But it works successfully "most" of the time

@fireblade OK
After a reinstall of pkg the signiture issue with pkg-static appears to be working
pkg install -fy pkg
