      Hello,

I want to make some change to my configuration of my XG-7100.
It's presently setup Wan = ETH1 and LAN ETH8 with 802.1q VLAN mode enable.

Because it's in used and I want the lowest downtime possible, what would be the best configuration if I wan to only use ix0 as WAN and ix1 as LAN.

      Thanks in advance.
      Daniel

I would enable one of the other Eth interfaces and connect to it via that so you don't lose connection whilst making the change.

Then you should just be able to re-assign WAN and LAN to the ix NICs.
Assuming that they link OK to whatever you're connecting them to it should just come back up immediately.
To be sure of that you might want to try assigning and enabling them as new interfaces without an IP first and check they link as expected.

          Thank you,

I already have ETH7 as LAN2 for my connection.
LAN on ix1 is working perfectly and until we get our fibre connection, I can't use ix0 as WAN because my RJ45 transceiver is not compatible.
I tried two links in the forum to find a compatible transceiver but without success.

          Regards,

Yes, the ix ports are generally not compatible with SFP-RJ45 modules.
We have seen some reports of modules working but if do it's by luck only! The SoC NICs cannot read the module data.
