XG-7100 LACP port options
-
Hi, I'm trying to add a couple of ports for LACP on a XG-7100. But every time I change the or delete the LAGG it seems to stop access to all switch ports.
Can someone let me know what ports I can add to a LACP LAGG ?
I was looking to have 2 x of the switch ports to add but that's where my trouble starts.
cheers

The switch is connected to the two internal ports using a load-balance LAGG by default. So if you change that at all you will lose connection to the switch unless you have also changed the switch config to match.
You can add additional LAGG ports to the switch to connect to an external device but it only supports load-balance natively.
If you need to use LACP you can use the SFP ports (ix0/ix1) or an expansion card.
The only way to use the switch ports to connect to an external LACP LAGG is to reconfigure the switch for port based VLANs. Then you can switch the internal LAGG to LACP on ix2 and ix3 and configure the switch to bring those out to two external ports via two port-vlans.
Doing that does mean you cannot use any of the other Eth ports.Steve

@stephenw10 Many Thanks for clearing that up.
Is there a list of compatible SFPs for the ports ix0/ix1 ?

Not other than the modules we have in our store. Most Intel compatible modules will work. Copper RJ-45 modules are incompatible. DAC cables usually work fine at 10G but have no way to force 1G which can be an issue.
