      I would like to have a cron job which checks and fetches backup.xml files for aliases and rules. I have few remote firewalls and it would save me a lot of time if I could just send the updated config files to a ftp folder. And the pfsense is collecting and restoring them.
      Is a solution out there already?

      I know this is a security weakness. If I could use a password...?

        Anything is possible with the right script. 😉

        But as you right pointed out there are security implications to that.

        You might consider using URL aliases which are already setup to pull lists from remote servers.
