      I would like to restart the PPPoE connection manually (eg. to receive a new IP).

      Is there a way to do it?

        Hi!

        Install Cron with command:

        /var/etc/pppoe_restart_pppoe0

        …and you can obtain a fresh IP every night.

        Manual:

        Status ->  Interfaces

        press Disconnect.

            That's why I wrote "Install" ;-)

            Cron is a package.

              …after installation you will find it under "Services" -> "Cron", here a screenshot from 2.2.6 as a template for a new job to restart PPPoE at night every day ;)

                cron is already installed on my system.

                In my understanding cron ist "just" the caller, so I'm missing the callee. On my 2.2.6 there is no:

                /var/etc/pppoe_restart_pppoe0

                  Can somebody please provide me the answer for this for 2.7.2?

                  /var/etc/pppoe_restart_pppoe0 doesn't exist in 2.7.2

                    Probably because your looking at forum messages that are 8 years old, from 2016. pfSense 2.2.6 is very ancient now.

                    No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
                    Edit : and where are the logs ??
