Hi everyone, so I found out that you can use pfsense software and any device to have an Awesome Router, but the thing is i'm going around in circles and don't know why, my settings wont give me internet connection.

Hardware - Laptop with internal lan port and Usb to Ethernet port
software - yup you guest it, pfsense
      Wan - static ipv4(192.168.100.200/24)
      Gateway is Online

      Lan - Static ipv4 (192168.1.1/24)

i can ping them from cmd
      but
      tracert 8.8.8.8
      stops at 192.168.1.1

      thanks and regardssss

        Same here : a

        tracert 8.8.8.8

just files the screen with "delay ...."

But when I use tracert to another IPv4 or IPv6 for that matter, an IP that I 'know' it works very well.

        Lol : like 8.8.8.8 vanished ;)
For me, the reason is known : I block all those 1.1.1.1 1.0.0.1 8.8.8.8 etc.

        A

        tracert 5.196.43.182

        works for you ?

        Usb to Ethernet port

I wouldn't dare doing that. I'm a member of the "a firewall / router has at least 2 'real' NIC's" club.
There is a video on Youtube that shows how to set up pfSense usinga One NIC device. You'll be needing a VLAN - smart - switch.

But, hey, if it works for you 👍

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

hmm i gues using 2 network cards makes sense, but it's just a small office with 50 hosts and i saw alot of videos out there using laptops with usb to Ethernet port
