TCP connection issues with out-of-box setup? PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR in Firefox on one website
-
Hello,
When attempting to reach linkedin.com on devices behind my Netgate SG-3100, I get a PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR most of the time that isn't there when I connect through a cellular connection or another Internet connection. The only things I configured within the router where to use OpenDNS and overwrite some domains for my local server. How can I troubleshoot this and get over these issues? It seems to be something with my network affecting TCP connections from my brief Google searches.
Thank you,
Michael -
Seems as if I've resolved it. I'm behind an ATT Fiber router/modem, so I had to remove the firewall rule to block private networks.
How do I close this thread?

Removing the 'block private networks' would not have been what solved that. That rule blocks incoming connections which are sourced from private subnets. It's applied on the WAN directly because you would usually never see traffic from private subnets there. The only time you would, and might want to pass it, would be from a client connecetd to the ISP router directly.
Importantly though that rule, on WAN, never blocks outgoing connections or replies to them.Steve
