Cannot ping WAN gateway
-
Hi
I freshly installed my Netgate box (SG 1100) and cannot make it work at all. I simply cannot ping outside, even the gateway. For now, no filtering nor NAT are configured, I just try to ping the GWObviously the DSL router works, I can attach Ethernet directly to it and access its configuration.
Please note that I'm not a Network or FreeBSD newbie, technical help is appreciated
Here is the network config from CLI :

The gateway is not responding to ARP. Something else already using .253? I would expect to see a conflict like that logged though.
Can you try DHCP on WAN instead? Is the DSL router enabled for dhcp?

As already mentioned if you can not arp it, you can not ping it - and no nothing is going to work if that your gateway to the internet.
You need to figure out why you can not arp for that.. Even if dupe you should see answer to arp..
