LEDs blinking, rolling reboot?
-
I had a UPS fail and the SG-2100 firewall seems to have gone down as a result. It is not accessible via the previous set IP address - just get a timeout.
The front panel lights are blinking blue. First the left one for a while, then the left two, then all 3 for a while, then off, and repeat. I haven't found the light codes in the docs. I did a power off reset, no joy.
What are the LEDs telling me and where is that in the docs? -
@ridev65s It’s telling you that it is booting repeatedly - ie: fails to boot properly and starts over.
PfSense on these appliances uses the UFS filesystem, and that is fairly susceptible to corruption/errors in powerloss scenarios.Try to get the console running (use the included USB cable) and see if it’s a filesystem error that can be repaired - see what happens during boot.
Otherwise contact Netgate support and get the recovery image to put on a USB stick and reinstall the SG-2100 from scratch. Afterwards restore your configuration backup. -
Yes, connect to the console and see where it's rebooting:
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/netgate-2100/connect-to-console.htmlYou can probably escape the boot loop.
