Watchguard Firebox x750e Case
-
Hello I dug out my old Firefox today and am using it as a 1U case for a new pfsense box. But wondering if anyone has managed to get the LCD, buttons and the PCIe 8x 4NIC expansion card working on different hardware?
I've connected the expansion card pcie to my new main board, so I can use the original ports on the front of the firebox but I can only see and get the 1st port working and that's all. If I connect the old main board it works fine so can't be the card. I'm I missing a setting in my bios? It's plugged into a pcie x16 port as that's all what's on the board.
Would be great if anyone had any info, or if someone has already done this and can advise me.
Thanks Guys.

The LCD is connected to the parallel port internally so you would need to use that on the new board. If it has one!

@stephenw10 no it doesn't have one, it's quite a new board. Although I can always purchase a USB converter. Any ideas on the pinout of the LCD to soilder a connection onto it?

It''s probably detailed in the, now pretty ancient, thread:
https://forum.netgate.com/topic/7467/firebox-lcd-driver-for-lcdprocI'm not sure if you could use a USB adapter. the driver is hard coded to the use the default parallel port I/O address. Your board probably still has that device even if it's not actually exposed anywhere.
