      Hello fellow Netgate community members,

I have noticed a small detail I wanted to point out and share with others to ask if anyone can help? I am using snort it was working up until a couple months ago when it stopped downloading the new updates for the Snort free usage with Oinkcode. My Oinkcode is active and working when testing with manual URLS I can download the files

(Image: Showing good download Snort 29181 file. However the package is pointing to the wrong URL it wants a non useable 29180 file.)

      Screen Shot 2021-12-08 at 8.59.54 AM.png
(Image: 29180 file is no longer listed under the free usage on Snort's website they have changed it to 29181.)

      (above no longer lists 29180)

How can we change this to reflect the free downloads that work with pfSense? The file that the Snort package wants to download is no longer listed the "29180" file it has been removed and shows as a dead link when testing the URLS. The other URLS work still with manual testing.

This Link that is automatically being used by snort is no longer valid. How can we change the URL to reflect the update for free rules? How can we update this manually or automate the URL changes with a Oinkcode?

A package update that corrects this problem has been posted for the Netgate/pfSense team to review and merge. Should happen in a day or two. The new Snort package version will be 4.1.5.
