Hi, I have a broadband router that has a home telephone connected to it, can I still add a pfsence router to my modem and then connect back my router to it so I can connect my home phone back
Thank you

What's the make and model of the existing router?
Do you have an NBN-supplied modem in front of your existing router?
Which RSP are you using?
Answers to these will determine answers to your question.

You can connect a router to a router ie ISP router then pfsense router, that result in a double NAT, both routers resources can be used (such as built in ATA or wifi. But effective use is more complicated.

You can put your ISP router/modem in bridge mode so only the modem is active. You will then need to get an external ATA or IP phone.

If you have Ethernet from the NBN device (HFC or fibre to the premises), you maybe able to put the ISP router after pfsense and just use it’s peripherals.

What I set up for a client that is on FTTN is a Draytek Vigor 130 (i think) in bridge mode and a pfsense box.
Their modem/router with the phone connection is connected to the pfsense box and goes out to the internet all by itself. All the other internal network runs off the pfsense box.
