Arpwatch - checking haproxy
-
I just installed arpwatch and I like the idea that it can check for any changes, especially on more vulnerable networks, but I keep getting these notifications every 2 minutes and I don't know how to stop them, or why they are happening:
X-Cron-Env: <SHELL=/bin/sh>X-Cron-Env:
<PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin>X-Cron-Env: <HOME=/root>X-
Cron-Env: <LOGNAME=root>X-Cron-Env: <USER=root>Checking haproxy.
Running on:
2.4.5-RELEASE-p1
armwatch 0.2.0_4 -
@mrn you really should update to 2.5.2, the package there is 0.2.0_6
I know in that version there is a checkbox for
Disables Cron email notifications from other packages. -
The time is not yet right for upgrading right now, because I've had failures with upgrades on my home device to 2.5.2 and the configuration is FAR too complicated to simply rebuild (HA stack + haproxy + Many many vlans etc etc) with my current time availability.
Anyway, the notifications seem to be related to regular arp watch functions and don't trigger on their own, as I was afraid in my original post.
I think for the most part my question is answered.

@mrn you do understand you can just take a backup of the config and then restore after clean install.
I did this going from 2.4.4p3 to 21.05.2.

I tried that too and it failed for some reason. Haven't had time to diagnose. I figured I'd wait until a newer release that hopefully would have fixed some bugs =)
