      Hello
I have an APU2 board, and tried to install pfSense-CE-memstick-serial-2.5.2-RELEASE-amd64.img, but shortly after power up, boot proccess stops after:
      can't find '/etc/hostid'
      can't find '/boot/entropy'

On these APU boards there is no BIOS settings to modify UEFI or CSM, which is usualy suggested in these siutations.
Does anyone have problems like this? Workaround?

        Hi there,

Very occasionally there can be a problem with installing pfSense on these. I do it all the time and typically don't have a problem.

Sounds like you might have a problem with your install USB. I recommend trying a different brand of USB flash drive and then make the installer again as per the instructions detailed at References - Writing an Installation Image to Flash Media

Make sure the USB flash drive has a MBR file allocation table.

          Hello,

          Thanks for response.
I have tried few different USB, different brands, same result.
My experience with APU boards is very good, dozens installed and never had any issues.

But....Never thought that I have overlooked this..... Burned image on USB was for VGA not serial console.
After selecting proper image for APU, boot and install went OK, as usual. :)
