      Which SFP module is recommended for the Netgate 6100?

      I have gigabit symmetrical connectivity and the fiber can be connected directly to the Netgate.

      My ISP has the following requirements:

      TX 1310 nm, RX 1490/1550 nm
      Singlemode Fiber (9/125) with LC/APC (green) connector.

        We meet again :-)

        Unfortunately there is no official supported list that contains single strand BiDi (1000base-BX10/20) trancievers.

        My SG-2100 currently runs on a “china” 1000base-bx20 SFP that emulates a Intel tranciever - no issues.

        I also have a official 1000base-bx10 3com tranciever that works fine in the SG-2100

        I have yet to try them in my SG-6100 as it’s currently on another line waiting to substitute the SG-2100 once pfSense+ 22.01 is released and I can complete a ZFS based install.

        I have ordered a 1000base-bx20 tranciever from flexoptical that emulates HPE/Aruba. I look forward to trying that one out. It won’t be used in my Firewall though, it’s a backup to connect the line to my Aruba Switch for setting up a WAN vlan “just in case”.

        Love the no fuss of using the official appliances :-)

          @keyser hah it’s a small world!

          Good to know tho. I think I’ll first try the one coming with the AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 which is the default router provided by my ISP.

            I have some generic LC BiDi modules I use for testing that work in the 6100.

            In the combo port the PHY is wired to be 1G only so they don't show as fibre:

            [22.01-RC][admin@6100-2.stevew.lan]/root: ifconfig -vvm ix2
            ix2: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
            	description: WAN2
            	options=8138b8<VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,JUMBO_MTU,VLAN_HWCSUM,WOL_UCAST,WOL_MCAST,WOL_MAGIC,VLAN_HWFILTER>
            	capabilities=f53fbb<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,JUMBO_MTU,VLAN_HWCSUM,TSO4,TSO6,LRO,WOL_UCAST,WOL_MCAST,WOL_MAGIC,VLAN_HWFILTER,VLAN_HWTSO,NETMAP,RXCSUM_IPV6,TXCSUM_IPV6>

            	media: Ethernet autoselect (1000baseT <full-duplex,rxpause,txpause>)

            	nd6 options=21<PERFORMNUD,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>

            In the 10G SPF port it shows as:

            [22.01-RC][admin@6100.stevew.lan]/root: ifconfig -vvm ix1
