Static IP address not being routed
-
This is my first post, so forgive me if it is a stupid question or I misunderstand concepts, I am self-taught.
I am using pfSense as a router on a VMware ESXI server with virtual machines installed. My WAN address is assigned by an external DHCP server on a 192.168.254.0/24 network and my LAN is on a 192.168.100.0/24 network.
I have enabled the DHCP server and NAT works with all the machines assigned a license via DHCP(range 192.168.100.100-192.168.100.199). I added a static IP address in Services>DHCP Server>LAN (address 192.168.100.10) I configured this address statically on my machine(ubuntu server) and it is able to ping the gateway and other hosts on the network but is unable to access the internet. I've tried looking through the docs and couldn't find what I was looking for.

@godlessgrapefruit and did you setup gateway and dns? Doesn't matter if dhcp is given via dhcp or static set on the device.. Pfsense really has no idea when doing firewall rules, etc. Oh let this guy through have a lease for him, oh block this guy no lease.
So unless you were doing something funky with static arp or something on pfsense.. Comes down most likely to settings on your box..

@johnpoz Yup it was an issue with the box. Thanks!
