22.01 - Released or not released?
-
YES! finally channel set to latest stable version
but after update...:
SG-3100
-
Hmm, not sure how that happened. 22.01 has not been released as of writing this.
Investigating...
-
-
Mmm, it looks like the Next repo package might be showing that incorrectly. We are looking at it.
-
Thanks for your quick response.
I suppose I will stick to the RC until the release version is out. -
Yes. You can't actually update to the release build yet anyway. But the repo file in the 22.01 branch should not, yet, be showing that description.
-
My sg3100 started blinking so I logged in and it said 22.01 was available.. yes I was set to stable
I installed it and it shows the RC version above. I think I am going to replace the 3100 it’s been nothing but a software nightmare due to being 32bit processor
-
My SG-3100 and my SG-1100 show it:
Both run the "22.01-RC (arm) built on Mon Jan 24 18:48:14 UTC 2022"
-
SG-3100
-
I am running 21.05.2.
In System Update if I change from Branch “Latest stable version (21.05.2)” to “Next Release Candidate (22.01)” I get “Unable to check for updates” and Branch is changed to “Latest stable version (22.01)” with no Current Base System or Latest Base System displayed.
Clearly something is buggered up here.

but a software nightmare due to being 32bit processor
huh??
https://shop.netgate.com/products/3100-base-pfsense?variant=32156744286323
CPU: The Dual core ARM v8 Cortex-A53 1.2 GHzDid you mean to say ARM.. Cuz that sure isn't 32 bit.. It can run 32bit stuff
https://developer.arm.com/Processors/Cortex-A53
The Armv8-A architecture provides 64-bit data processing, extended virtual addressing, and a 64-bit general purpose registers.
The first Armv8-A processor aimed at providing power-efficient 64-bit processing.- The AArch32 state allows execution of existing Armv7-A applications.
-
The CPUs in the 3100 and SG-1000 are 32bit ARM.
Hmm, in fact it shows both on that page for some reason but the 1.2GHz A53 CPU is what's used in the 1100 and 2100.
Also this repo description error is nothing to do with the architecture.

Ohh no - please don’t let this be yet another delay in the 22.01 release…. :-(
I have a bunch of boxes waiting on my desk I would love to start of in a ZFS based install before they are deployed.
If 22.01 is delayed yet again, I guess I’ll have to go UFS on them and suffer the risk of consequenses whenever the power goes.
