Updates take forever to fetch all packages.

update taking forever to fetch all packages on a 1gb up and down. This also happens when I try to install a package or open the installed package page. Th has happened when all versions that was installed on a device that has better specs than the negate 1541. This is also the case in the ssh update panel, still nothing to make it go faster.

That is more likely to be related to the path between your location and the package servers or hardware. I am on 1G/1G and updates download quickly. Not full line rate, but still fast. The day of the release it was slower because it was heavily loaded from lots of people all downloading all at once, but it's not as heavily loaded now.

I have a system that is faster than the NetGate 1541, it happens all year long.

As I said it's unlikely to be hardware-related or even OS related. It sounds like the path across the Internet between you/your ISP and the Netgate servers is slow.

So, I am stuck waiting for the 5-6 hours to update from 2.6.0 to 22.0.1.
Is there a way to see how fast the packages are downloading?

@sgc Whenever I have dog-slow upgrades, it's broken IPv6. The firewall thinks it should have it but it doesn't.

If IPv6 is a factor, that's easy to change as well. System > Advanced, Networking tab, check Prefer IPv4 over IPv6, then save and try again.
