Why do the CD images alternate in size?

I'm looking at the CD images. Every other one is 26MB and the others are 40MB. Reason?

You're looking at all the files, not just ISOs. The ones that are .img not .iso are images for embedded, not ISOs.

All the iso files are 40 MB, all the embedded img files are 26 MB.
