1541 10BGbps RJ45 ports : can they run at 1Gbps?
-
Hi,
Can I use the 10Gbps RJ45 ports on the 1541 as 1Gbps? Would they just autosense the correct speed if plugged into a 1Gbps switch?
Many thanks,
Andy Farmer -
Yes and yes is the short answer.
Is this something you have tried and is not doing that?Steve

@stephenw10 that could prob be better presented in the docs.. I looked at the docs, and while you might "assume" a 10ge copper should also do 10/100/1000 - I could see how he has questions on that..

In the 1541 doc directly? Yeah, it does appear to show only 10G. Hmm..
I don't think I've seen any 10Gbase-T interface that did not autonegotiate to 1G though.
Someone will probably point one out.

Thanks all! I thought it would probably be fine but I just wanted to check before a potential purpose.
