Serial Console config

Just made fresh install of 2.60.
The default screen is for video only.
If I select #5 then it will change to dual serial / video.
after bootup though, the output stops going to the console.

Brings me to two questions.

1. how to change the default option so that serial is enable by default
2. why can i no longer access via the console port after bootup.

I need a headless install with the console port as the emergency access

@gwaitsi Easiest way is to download the serial-only image from the https://pfsense.org

Yep. Since my Qotom mini PC has a serial port, I enabled it when I installed pfsense, but normally use a keyboard & monitor.
