    Dpinger Not Seeing Reestablished Connection

      Yesterday morning my dashboard showed that the status of my WAN was unknown:

      I looked at the logs for the WAN gateway and found these entries:

      The WAN was working perfectly with no issues routing traffic out either directly through that interface or various OpenVPN and Wireguard tunnels. I figured it would just take a few minutes for the status to revert to Online. But that didn't happen. All day it showed that the Status was Unknown even though it was working perfectly. This morning it still showed the status as unknown with no further log entries for the gateway.

      I released the WAN lease and then renewed it thinking that would reset the connection but that did not change anything. So I checked the dpinger service which was on. I shut the service down and restarted it and right away everything showed up as Online again.

      So my question is, why would I need to restart the dpinger service again? Obviously there was a connectivity issue but why would dpinger not automatically see that the connection was established again?
