I would like to update my home setup (based on just a Fritz box and a RPi for pinhole) using dedicated firewall powered by pfsense, a managed switch and a wireless access point.

I'm in Italy, I have a 1Gigabit fiber connection that in the near future will be updated to 2.5 Gigabit (and who knows about 10...): I was searching for a passive mini PC like Protection or Qotom, but the first doesn't seem to offer 2.5G Ethernet, don't know about Qotom...

Do you think is possible and also a good idea to search for some mini PC with a couple of 10G ports? I can connect one to the ONT and the other to the managed switch in order to create different VLANs.

    Thanks in advance!

      What about Netgate 4100
not 10G but 2,5G. For 10G I guess you have to build something yourself.

@fireodo The 6100 would qualify as multiple 10G ports.

If you actually have a 10Gbps WAN link you would likely want something a lot more powerful to be able to fully use it.
Or consider running TNSR instead of pfSense.
