Is there any way, other than reinstalling, to replace the subscription key, and revert it from pfSense+ w/ TAC Lite to regular Home subscription?

        But remain on pfSense Plus?

I mean, no I don't think that can be done. Yet. Work is on-going to add provisions for various edge cases like that though.

@stephenw10 Would reinstall and restore from a backup work? Or the restore would just bring back the TAC Lite subscription? If that's the case, does it mean that the only way to downgrade is to reinstall from scratch, and just reconfigure the same way?
            Thank you for your help.

              @vladgh

I think you should explain what you want, and be a bit more specific.

              Right now you have:
              A pfSense+ subscription w. TAC-Lite.

              I see two other options:

              1:
              Downgrade to pfSense (2.6.0 CE)

              2:
Downgrade to pfSense+ subscription w. Home/Lab (aka free).

My guess is that you would like to downgrade to : #2
              pfSense+ subscription w. Home/Lab (aka free).

When you have installed pfSense 2.6.0-CE , and do the register.
Then it is my impression that Netgate will register your "Netgate Device ID" (NDI) , and the key you used in their Device database.
This imho a great feature , as you will not have to register again if/when you need to reinstall 2.60 --> pfSense+ on the same device (as long as your NDI) is the same.

But i can see your issue if you want to go from TAC-Lite to "Home" , as your NDI would automatically register w. the TAC-Lite key you have used previously.

I think the only way you could solve that is to open a TAC Case , asking them politely to "Unregister" your NDI/Key in their database.

              /Bingo

Yup, open a ticket if you need to do that. I think that is still a manual process at this point. I'm not sure anyone else has asked! šŸ˜‰

                  Yes, you are correct; I currently have a pfSense+ subscription w. TAC-Lite and I would like to switch to a pfSense+ subscription w. Home/Lab

Thank you both. I will open a ticket.
