Hi, I've just started using Pfsense and I'm on version 2.3.2. It seems to run ok otherwise but the problem I'm having is that DHCP leases are not resolving through dns. I've configured so that the DNS resolver is has 'register DHCP leases in the DNS Resolver' ticked, so I assumed this is what I needed to get this working. What I done so was to run wireshark on my laptop, clear the cache and try and ping a host on a different subnet. I noticed that Pfsense was going out to a root server on the internet (a.root-servers.net) to query that and failing. I found a forum post where someone had a similar issue in the past and was directed to check the hosts file at /etc/hosts. I did this and noticed that only static leases were showing. However, when I cleared and re-ticked to register DHCP leases I noticed that it populated the host file with dynamic leases. Is this a bug or should I configure this differently?
