I recently changed to 1g ftth connection. I can no longer reach near gigabit speeds as there seems to be a bottleneck on the CPU due to the connection being pppoe on SG3100

What netgate device would be capable of reaching gigabit speeds without maxing out the CPU.

    Thanks

The 6100 can. I'm not sure I've seen a test on the 4100 but I would expect it to since the main restriction of PPPoE is that it's single threaded so the 2 fewer cores has less impact.
Unless you have a load of other services running of course.

Actually I have one running here but it's between a 6100 and a 4100 so restricted at both ends.
A simple iperf test across it shows ~800Mbps up and > 900Mbps down (peaking at line rate).
