Is there a way to change the date format used inside the pFsense dashboard? seeing mm/dd is really confusing for me

We don't currently have any options for that. Generally speaking, the underlying daemons and operating system each put out their own slightly different date formats, and if we have an option to control what few things we can influence, then it would be expected that they would all change, when that ranges from slightly difficult to neigh impossible depending on the context.

Just out of curiosity, where are you seeing mm/dd in the dashboard? I'm see three character abbreviated month name with two digit day.

Yea, I can see how that would be confusing. Particularly when the same pane uses an ISO date in the rollover. If it's going to be a fixed format, it would probably would be better to use MM-DD which would at least align with the rollover.
