      i5-3.2ghz Haswell, Intel i320-T2
Finally got iperf3 to work setting the packet size. Decided to test against public iperf servers to see how my system handled it. While my desktop was CPU bound, PFSense seemed to be idle

1 iperf was capable of about 240kpps of 64byte UDP packets per core, four cores.

      ~240kpps 6% cpu load
      ~480kPPS 6.5% cpu load
      ~960kpps 7% cpu load

This was from LAN to public internet with traffic shaping. I also noticed when playing around with different bandwidths, it quickly approached 6% load, then as you see it plateaus.

What is a typical PPS for a medium end system?

P.S. Of course my uplink could not handle these bandwidths, lots of packetloss.
