      Intent:
I have a home lab setup where I'm using a pfSense VM to isolate other VMs from my home network while still allowing them to access the internet.

      Problems:

      1. the host system is routing its traffic through the pfSense when the pfSense is powered on instead of using my home router
      2. the traffic going through pfSense is pulling about 20kbps down even though my internet connection is 300mbps

      Setup details:
The host system is a HP Z840 workstation with one ethernet cable connected. It is running Windows Server 2022 with Hyper-V role enabled. In Hyper-V, there is one external virtual switch configured on the physical ethernet adapter and one internal virtual switch configured.

The pfSense VM has a network adapter connected to the external virtual switch and an adapter connected to the internal virtual switch and is configured to route traffic between the two virtual networks. The VM has 4 vCPUs and 2GB static RAM configured.

Any ideas on how to fix these problems? What do I need to change in my setup?

@bob-dig Thank you! I replaced the pfsense 2.6.0 VM with a new one running pfsense 2.5.2 and the internet speed blistering fast now.
