I tried to search the forum and the internet but there is not much information on pfSense support for Netboard A20. I found only 1 post here which is from last year. Does pfSense work and supported on Netboard A20 or not?

Considered the Netgate 1500 series but not sure if it makes sense with double the cost for same performance. But they are interesting if somebody can justify the cost. So what are good arguments for the more expensive 1500 series? (except pfSense supports it out of the box?)

          See: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/165769/pfsense-on-a-dec3840-netboard-a20

Possible but some messing about required.

No support for the axp NICs in 2.6 but should be in the coming 2.7 snapshots.

@stephenw10 I saw that thread from 1 year ago. I was hoping things could have changed a bit in time.

What makes you say that 2.7 will support some new hardware? Because pfSense will use the same kernel according to netgate releases doc?
            https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/releases/versions.html

It links to same FreeBSD hardware support document at:

The public 2.7 snapshots were built on FreeBSD 12 but will be rebased soon. We are testing internally to find and fix all the show stopping issues before making them public again.
