      dear all,

      we are in environment where we have 5 to 6 time sudden power failure in every 2 months.. we have one

      Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
      Current: 3400 MHz, Max: 3401 MHz
      8 CPUs: 1 package(s) x 4 core(s) x 2 SMT threads

      HD SATA = 500 GB
      RAM = 8GB

      the problem is that this pfsense on this PC comes into bootloop after every two or three months,,,

      so i change this into

      Intel(R) Core(TM) i3
      HD SATA = 500 GB
      RAM = 8GB

      again face the same issue after 5 to 6 power failure goes to boot loop

      but we have also second PC

      Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz
      2 CPUs: 1 package(s) x 2 core(s)

      HD IDE = 50 GB
      RAM = 8GB

      This PC is working with us since 1 years and face same power failure also but start working..

        Sounds like you should have a UPS on your shopping list.

            You can't just pull the plug on a UFS file system like that. Fix the boot loop by booting into single user mode and running fsck -y / until it comes back clean then reboot.

              Seek out a used notebook  (make next pfSense machine acquisition a notebook) and VLAN capable switch (smart switch).  Notebooks have an integrated UPS and console.
              Be sure the battery is in decent condition and  holds a decent charge.

              I use the friends and family method of acquiring old notebooks.

                  Yeah there is, it's called a UPS.

                  No computer responds well to a sudden power loss regardless of "settings". If it's that important to you protect it with a UPS.
